Freeway Quintet is a band founded from a young Polish jazz scene. It is an orginal project of Piotr Szwec and Marcin Kuzdowicz, which was established in 2009. The music of Freeway Quintet band characterizes compositions of melodic themes inspired by not only jazz, but also film and alternative music.The orginal sound of the band creates combination of the saxophone duet playing on different varieties of saxophones (from baritone to soprano) with not quite jazzy sounding electric guitar, using a variety of audio transducers. The band is composed of five independent personalities which make that in their music and arrangements is possible to detect elements from many different genres. Freeway Quintet has been appreciated at major jazz festivals and competitions in Poland and abroad.
